In a previous article, I discuss the nuances of situations where the GDPR may or may not apply. I’ve received many questions as of the status of various countries’ GDPR adoption, so I’ve posted this handy map that illustrates where the GDPR has been ratified as law
Key notes:
- Currently, the GDPR is in force in all EU member states.
- All European Economic Area (EEA) countries have also adopted the GDPR.
- Brexit may affect the GDPR’s status in the United Kingdom. Should a “no-deal” Brexit advance, the GDPR and other privacy regulations would no longer be of effect in the UK.
Thanks to the folks at mapchart.net for providing the map illustrating software!
