With all the talk in the news about Zoom’s security, the company has recently made many security enhancements and upgrades. We recommend all business users enable the following five settings to maximize the security of their Zoom meetings:

1. Set a Meeting Password for all your meetings and webinars. The setting is available for all users, including free accounts.

2. Set Data routing to avoid data center regions located in areas your company may not do business in, for example China. For companies exclusively based in the US, we recommend setting the routing to US only. This feature requires a Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Education account, but Free accounts are locked to the default region where the accounts are provisioned.

3. Set a Cloud recording password to protect recordings stored in the Cloud.

4. Update Zoom, version 5.0 is out and we recommend updating immediately to take advantage of the latest security and privacy enhancements, including data routing. The 5.0 version also includes stronger encryption which is much tougher to break.

5. Use Single Sign-on (SSO). It’s more secure and easier for users who will be able to use their company credentials to sign in to Zoom. If someone reuses a password for Zoom and their account is compromised, that can lead to unauthorized access of their recordings or meetings.
